In the early 1970s, the Nixon administration began lifting trade restrictions with China, paving the way for American companies to establish manufacturing facilities there. By the late 1990s and early 2000s, many cutlery manufacturers had already made the switch, citing lower labor costs and increased efficiency as major factors.

But does this mean that all Chinese-made knives are inferior? Absolutely not. In fact, some of the most highly-regarded knife makers in the world have production facilities in China, including myself. With the right design, materials, and craftsmanship, a knife made in China can be just as good as one made in the United States.
